We are working with a leading Building Services Consultancy committed to delivering sustainable and energy-efficient solutions across the built environment. With a strong focus on low-carbon design, energy modelling, and environmental impact reduction, they are seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join their team and support the delivery of high-performance buildings.
Role Overview:
As a Sustainability Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on energy performance, thermal modelling, and sustainable design strategies. You will use IESVE software to model and analyse building performance, supporting BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and Net Zero projects. The role requires close collaboration with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to integrate sustainability into every stage of the design and construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct energy modelling and thermal analysis using IESVE to assess building performance
* Provide guidance on low-carbon and net-zero design strategies for commercial and residential projects
* Support the BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and other sustainability accreditation processes
* Carry out carbon reduction assessments and recommend improvements for energy efficiency
* Collaborate with MEP engineers, architects, and clients to integrate sustainability measures
* Analyse HVAC and renewable energy systems to enhance building performance
* Keep up to date with industry regulations, including Part L, TM52, TM59, CIBSE guidelines
* Prepare sustainability reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
Key Requirements:
* Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Building Physics, or a related field
* Proven experience in a Sustainability or Energy Consulting role within Building Services
* Proficiency in IESVE for thermal modelling, energy analysis, and daylight simulations
* Knowledge of BREEAM, LEED, WELL, Passivhaus, or other sustainability standards
* Understanding of Part L, TM52, TM59, and UK building regulations
* Strong communication and report-writing skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Desirable Skills (Bonus):
* Experience with SAP/SBEM, TAS, or other energy modelling software
* CIBSE, IEMA, or similar professional accreditation
* Knowledge of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and Circular Economy principles
