Post commences: 1st September 2025
Are you a passionate and inspirational teacher with a deep understanding of early years pedagogy and child development? Do you believe that authentic, experiential learning forms the foundation of a successful education? Are you ready to lead with vision and make a real difference at a strategic level?
Marshfield Primary School is seeking to appoint a Leader of Teaching and Learning with a specialism in Early Years Pedagogy – a senior leadership role for an outstanding practitioner who believes (as we do) that happy, healthy, confident and resilient children are at the heart of successful learning.
We are looking for someone who brings a sound knowledge of Froebelian principles, a passion for authentic learning experiences, and a strong understanding of the three key enablers for effective learning.
This is your opportunity to:
1. Shape and lead an innovative, child-centred early years curriculum
2. Promote the highest standards of teaching and learning across the Lower School Team and beyond
3. Support colleagues in providing rich, meaningful, play-based learning opportunities that spark curiosity, creativity and independence
4. Drive forward our vision for early education rooted in kindness, care, and respect for children as competent and capable learners
We are looking for a leader who:
1. Is an outstanding early years practitioner with in-depth knowledge of child development
2. Embeds Froebelian principles into everyday practice – recognising the importance of play, relationships, nature, creativity, and the voice of the child
3. Champions authentic learning experiences that reflect the interests, cultures and contexts of the children
4. Understands and promotes the three key enablers of learning and developmentally appropriate practice
5. Leads with empathy, creativity and a collaborative spirit
6. Has the skills and vision to mentor and inspire staff across the school
7. Is a reflective practitioner who is committed to continuous learning and innovation
In return, we offer:
1. Wonderful children who are eager to learn, well-behaved, and at the heart of everything we do
2. A welcoming, enthusiastic and talented team of staff and leaders
3. A caring culture where wellbeing is central to everything we do
4. A supportive parent and community network
5. Dedicated leadership time and excellent opportunities for continued professional development in order to lead with confidence and impact
6. A school that values innovation, creativity and professional reflection
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of early years education in our school. If you are ready to inspire, innovate and lead with heart, Marshfield Primary School could be your next exciting chapter.
