We are a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency employing mentoring and supporting apprentices in the construction industry and the wider built environment.
To achieve our aims, we secure work placements with contractors working locally and recruit and employ local apprentices for those unique opportunities.
Our apprentices work in Trades including Bricklaying, Site Carpentry, Groundworks, Plastering, and Scaffolding as well as Technical roles such as Site Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering and Design & Build.
Job Description
The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in our business, driving growth by identifying opportunities, building, and maintaining relationships with potential clients, negotiating contracts, and executing effective sales strategies. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for social media and representing the business at networking and career events.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
* Develop strategies to drive growth.
* Identify new business opportunities, generating leads through various channels such as networking, cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and attending industry events.
* Build strong relationships with potential customers.
* Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and timelines.
* Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals and ensuring timely follow-up and engagement.
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify potential areas of growth or risk for the business.
* Monitor sales performance KPIs to track progress towards goals.
Account Management
* Maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
* Identify opportunities for account growth.
* Ensure successful onboarding of new clients.
* Proactively identify opportunities to add value to client relationships.
Marketing and Social Media
* Attend industry events and other networking opportunities to increase exposure and develop business relationships.
* Develop and implement social media strategies.
* Develop content calendars and publishing schedules to ensure a consistent and timely presence on social media.
* Collaborate with internal teams to create relevant and compelling content.
* Create high-quality engaging content for various social media platforms.
* Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages and respond promptly to inquiries and comments.
Our ideal candidate:
* Proven track record in business development.
* Knowledge of CRM systems.
* Experience in B2B sales.
* Experience in developing new business opportunities.
* Previous experience in apprenticeships/construction is desirable.
* Self-motivated and target-driven with the ability to work independently.
* Competent in the use of technology with strong IT skills in Microsoft Office.
* Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence key stakeholders.
* Ability to adapt to a changing market.
* Competent in creating and delivering sales presentations.
* Proven communicator with the ability to engage and nurture relationships.
* ‘Can-do’ approach.
* A full UK driving licence is essential as the role involves travel across the South West region.
