About The Service The Schools Health & Safety Officer Service provides a professional support service to Head Teachers to assist in managing health and safety within their schools. About the Job Experienced and dynamic Health and Safety Officers are required to join the team. The successful applicant will provide Health and Safety advice and support to Headteachers, School Governors and school-based staff of their allocated schools to effectively manage and improve health and safety standards across the Education Sector. What We Are Looking For From You You will be a dynamic and effective health and safety officer, with experience of delivering health and safety support. You will have a proven track record of advising on health and safety issues, as well as practical experience of undertaking audits, inspections, risk assessments, accident investigation, as well as delivering presentations and briefing sessions on workplace health and safety issues. You will need to possess excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to prioritise varying tasks and workload, to align with service targets and deadlines along with school responses within specified timeframes. You will be committed to providing a high quality of health and safety advice and support to our Schools to safeguard the safety of staff, pupils, and visitors. Although experience of supporting health and safety within Education and Learning would be desirable, this is not essential. Full training will be provided prior to commencing delivery of support to schools. Additional Information This post is temporary until 1st March 2026 and the successful candidate will work term time only.
