About the Role:
Are you a skilled Maintenance Operative looking for a dynamic and rewarding contract role? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, working on the Stoke Schools PFI Contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work across 88 sites, carrying out a range of fabric maintenance duties to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planned Maintenance: Carry out planned maintenance on fabric assets such as windows, fire doors, ironmongery, passive fire protection, roofing, and gutters.
* Reactive Maintenance: Undertake minor repair works, including door/window furniture, carpentry, flooring, roofing, painting & decorating, and more.
* Minor Works: Complete minor installations and repairs in line with trade qualifications.
* Health & Safety: Always work in a safe, conscientious manner, conducting risk assessments and adhering to Safe Systems of Working (SSOW).
* Reporting & Updates: Provide regular updates on work orders to the helpdesk, ensuring accurate documentation is completed for all works.
* Collaboration: Work alongside the in-house Stoke Schools engineering team to deliver high-quality maintenance services.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualifications: A formal apprenticeship in a relevant City & Guilds Trade Craft.
* Experience: Previous experience in building fabric repairs and maintenance.
* Health & Safety: Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessment procedures.
* Licensing: A full, clean driving license is essential; IPAF (MEWP) qualification is desirable.
* DBS Check: Enhanced DBS clearance is required to work on-site (dependent on passing clearance).
* Skills: Highly motivated, customer-focused, and collaborative with a strong attention to detail and quality.
