About The Academy:
They are a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Academy in Oxford, committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with diverse learning needs. The Academy supports students with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
They are seeking a highly organised, welcoming, and efficient Receptionist/Administrator to join their team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth running of the Academy office while providing a warm and friendly first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Acting as the first point of contact for the academy, greeting visitors and answering queries with professionalism and warmth.
2. Managing the academy’s main tele line and email inbox, ensuring prompt and effective communication.
3. Supporting academy administration, including attendance records, student files, and data entry.
4. Assisting with safeguarding procedures, including visitor sign-ins and compliance with academy policies.
5. Handling correspondence, filing, and general office duties to support the leadership team and teaching staff.
6. Coordinating academy events, meetings, and appointments.
7. Ordering and managing office supplies to ensure a well-equipped working environment.
Person Specification:
1. Previous experience in an academy office or administrative role (preferably within an SEN setting).
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
3. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor).
4. Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and remain calm under pressure.
5. A proactive and flexible approach, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within a school environment.
7. A commitment to inclusion and supporting children with SEN.
