Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) – Full-Time, Permanent (term time only) September Start – Dorking, Mole Valley Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum
For some children, communication is their biggest challenge. They have thoughts, ideas, and emotions to express, but the words don’t always come easily. As a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), you have the power to change that.
You know that communication isn’t just about talking—it’s about confidence, connection, and being understood. In this role, you’ll work in a specialist school for students with Autism and SEMH, helping them find their voice in a way that works for them.
A School Built for Progress
This school was designed with its students in mind, ensuring they have the right support in place to reach their potential. Every detail has been considered to create an environment where both students and staff can succeed.
You’ll have access to:
* Brand-new therapy spaces with high-quality resources to support your work
* Small class sizes, allowing you to focus on individual student needs
* A collaborative team, including teachers, occupational therapists, and pastoral staff
* Specialist facilities, including a multi-sports hall, theatre space, and outdoor learning areas
* A leadership team that values therapists, ensuring you have everything you need to make a difference
Your Impact as a Speech and Language Therapist
In this role, you won’t just be delivering one-size-fits-all interventions—you’ll be working closely with students, staff, and families to create tailored communication strategies that fit each child’s unique needs.
You might be:
* Helping a non-verbal student find confidence with AAC or Makaton
* Supporting a young person in developing social communication skills
* Advising teachers on strategies to create a communication-friendly classroom
* Encouraging self-expression through storytelling, role play, or creative activities
Your work won’t just help students in school—it will set them up with the skills they need for life.
A Team That Supports You
Therapists are often expected to work in isolation, but not here. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team where teachers, support staff, and therapists work side by side to ensure students receive the best possible care.
If you’re new to working in an education setting, don’t worry—the school provides SEND training and ongoing professional development, helping you adapt your skills to the school environment.
