Logistics Manager
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 09:00 to 18:00 – Office-based (with some flexibility available)

About the Role:
The City Recruiter is excited to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced Logistics Manager on behalf of their prestigious client. This role will be pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day logistical operations of a dynamic and innovative company, known for its focus on quality and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in managing third-party logistics (3PL) partners, improving fulfilment processes, and ensuring the safe movement of fine wine and spirits.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Oversight:
1. Oversee the daily logistics operations of the company, ensuring efficiency and compliance with service agreements.
2. Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) partners, ensuring adherence to quality controls and service level agreements (SLAs).
3. Ensure safe and compliant handling, movement, and storage of products both domestically and internationally, with a primary focus on the UK market.
4. Work closely with key internal stakeholders, including the Managing Director, to manage partner warehouses, suppliers, and customers.
5. Manage the logistics of tax and import/export processes across all operational markets.
6. Negotiate transport rates and continuously work to optimise costs per bottle or case.
7. Work to improve customer satisfaction by streamlining fulfilment processes and meeting internal and external lead time targets.
8. Oversee the export of stock to trade partners and consumers outside the UK.
Wine Operations:
1. Manage stock, inbound and outbound logistics, and supply chain processes for wine.
2. Ensure new suppliers adhere to compliance requirements and regulatory obligations, including REX numbers.
3. Coordinate logistics for collections, stock loading, customs clearances, and domestic/international shipments.
4. Prepare and file Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) to ensure accurate and timely stock movements.
5. Manage the smooth intake of stock into warehousing systems, ensuring data integrity and accurate documentation.
E-commerce Logistics:
1. Maintain and optimise relationships with third-party fulfilment partners, ensuring SLAs are met.
2. Support the setup and ongoing optimisation of front-end (Shopify) and back-end (Unleashed, VCIS) systems.
3. Resolve delivery issues, manage order holds, track stock levels, and handle refunds and returns.
4. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Proven experience with an ERP system is essential.
2. Full understanding of the import process, including recent changes to Duty Banding/ERP/PRN.
3. Strong analytical abilities with excellent attention to detail.
4. Prior experience in stock management, ideally within the drinks industry.
5. Comfortable with technology and IT systems.
6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders across the supply chain.
7. A proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage a varied workload.
8. Organised and diligent with effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
9. High levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
