Job Title: Maintenance Technician Salary: £Excellent Benefits: To be discussed at interview Job Type: Permanent Location: Banbury Job Start date: ASAP Shift Pattern: Continental, 40.25 Hours (Average) We’re supporting our client, a leading global engineering and manufacturing based in Banbury, who are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Technician will have a formal apprenticeship within either an electrical, mechanical or hydraulic qualification, as well as be fully trained with process and machine systems. Position Overview: As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for providing a multi-skilled technical service to ensure the effective and efficient running of the plant. Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician: React to breakdowns and quality issues using diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems quickly and effectively. Programme and monitor the running of plant equipment to maximise through-put in line with agreed quality standards. Undertake planned maintenance in line with the ‘TPM’ process. Work as a member of the shift team, maximising efforts to meet priorities and having a longer-term view to continuous improvement Input into manufacturing facilities (layouts, services etc.) Always follow environmental, health & safety policies and procedures and report any issues Take appropriate escalation actions Provide engineering and technical services to improve the performance of the plant Knowledge of quality standards To project a professional image of the company to customers/visitors To use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns eg. Quality/downtime Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies, compliance with IATF 16949, Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification, General Risk Assessments, Manual Handling Risk Assessments, COSHH Risk Assessments Report accidents and near misses. Comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable) and the Safe System of Work documents. Adhere to 5S processes and procedures, raise quality care points, liaise with other departments regarding quality concerns, adhere to standardised working procedures, participate in quality checks and controls, adhere to quality care points and report repeat quality issues. Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, availability, maintenance, equipment modifications, plant, error proofing, technical systems and processes and cost down opportunities. Participate in projects within the companies CIP scheme, taking fast action to reduce customer demerits and cost of quality and use consumables responsibly Comply with the principals of the company’s employee charter, participate in training and development programmes and share knowledge with the wider teams, identify areas of development and training requirements, participate in the company’s suggestion scheme, promote the open-door policy, support the Fairness Committee initiative and ensure good team working principals are being adhered by all team members. About You: Formal apprenticeship within either an electrical, mechanical or hydraulic qualification. Will be fully trained with process and machine systems Strong diagnostic skills, good numeracy and communication (both oral and written) skills Experience within a large injection moulding shop would be desirable. Must have a strong attention span with a good eye for detail. Robotic experience – Kuka, ABB robots desirable. Experience of hydraulics and PLC work. Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company. Ability to identify different colours of products (i.e. Ishihara).
