The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for providing personalized assistance to individuals in their homes or in assisted living facilities. This position requires a compassionate individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The (PCA) will help clients with basic day-to-day activities and work to ensure that the client’s physical and emotional needs are met
Personal Care Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide assistance with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
* Prepare meals, clean, and do laundry for clients
* Assist in transferring clients from bed to wheelchair, etc.
* Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and recreational activities
* Document daily activities, changes in physical and mental condition, and any other relevant information
* Ensure that the client’s living environment is safe and secure
* Monitor vital signs and provide medication reminders
* Provide emotional support to clients and their families
Personal Care Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous experience in a caregiving role preferred
* Current CPR and First Aid certification
* Able to lift up to 50 pounds
* Must be organized and able to multitask
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision
