Duties - general To provide general medical services by way of, for example, surgeries, clinics and relevant administrative work, and other such duties as are required of the practice under NHS Regulations and which are reasonably delegated to you. To meet the standards of clinical care and data entry into computerised clinical records, as required by the practices clinical and other protocols. To travel within the practice area to provide home visits, emergency treatment etc to patients and to undertake such other duties outside the surgery as are required of the practice under NHS Regulations and which are reasonably delegated to you. To conduct surgeries at the practices Branch Surgeries, Student Clinic, Care Home, or any other location within the practice area To participate in administrative duties and data entry procedures relating to the achievement of Performance Indicators and other Objectives under PMS/GMS Contracts and Practice Plans. The above general duties will be carried out during your normal surgery hours, and during on call hours and extended hours as allocated by rota. The arrangements of your duties may be varied from time to time, subject to your agreement. Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards. Duties specific To deal with patients according to the appointments system, which will comprise a mix of routine, urgent and emergency requests, and a mix of telephone consultations and face to face consultations, with the latter usually being booked by yourself To visit patients at home as requested by the Emergency Practitioner Subject to mutual agreement, to conduct specific clinics such as baby clinic, minor surgery, etc To participate in the on call rotas, such duties to be allocated pro rata to sessions worked To participate in the extended hours rotas, such duties to be allocated pro rata to sessions worked To participate in medication review, post, as allocated by rota To authorise prescriptions issued by the practice according to patients requests and clinical need To review and action post and results To refer patients for secondary care and or pathology procedures according to practice, CCG, hospital and laboratory protocols To liaise with the Community Nursing team To complete Medical Attendant and other Reports as requested from time to time by third parties To consistently follow data entry and clinical protocols and templates To participate in the teaching of medical students and the debriefing of GP Learners To attend and participate in regular monthly practice clinical meetings and other meetings and /or Away Days arranged from time to time To arrange an annual Appraisal/Personal Development Plan meeting with a facilitator to agree practice and development objectives To arrange an NHS Appraisal. To comply with the Policies and Procedures contained in the Staff Handbook.
