Personal Assistant (PA) for 13 year old boy - 10 hours per week - Horsforth, Leeds Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: e97be3e3 Are you passionate about supporting young people with multiple and complex needs? Do you want to make a difference in the life of a 13 year old boy with ADHD, autism and learning disabilities? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for a PA to support Lucas for 10 hours per week (ideally 6 hours at the weekend and the rest split over a couple of days after school) Meet Lucas: I am a happy and energetic 13-year-old boy. I love going to the park on my scooter, watching planes take off and land, and I know a lot about cars as they are my absolute favourite thing to play with. I also like to play computer driving games. I am chatty and like to ask lots of questions. I am kind and like to help others. I can be quite loud, but I don’t like very loud noises I might not want to try something new straight away if I feel pushed into it, but I tend to want to try once I’ve had time to think. As a PA you will: • Support Lucas when out in the community with accessing all the activities he enjoys. • Discuss other activity ideas with Mum and Dad to broaden Lucas’s experiences. • Keeping Lucas safe as he has low awareness of danger. My son is extremely energetic and would like the opportunity to visit various places in the community. As his PA you would need to be vigilant as he has a low sense of danger. He enjoys going to the park, the airport, the cinema, and gaming, and as his PA you will provide opportunities to build life skills and independence. Lucas has ADHD, autism and learning disabilities. He communicates very well and likes to talk. He does not need support eating or going to the toilet, but will need to be prompted to wash his hands. Hours: The 10 hours can be used at various times but if possible 2 hours Monday to Friday twice a week after school, and six hours on a weekend either Saturday or Sunday would be brilliant. Extra Information: Being a driver and having a car is not essential, but would be really helpful. Public transport will be used if not, as Horsforth has a good transport network.
