Stores Assistant/ Driver

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week -6 months fixed term contract.

The role of the department is to support the clinical delivery within the Trust through the management and timely delivery of equipment and consumables through an effective logistics chain
You will be responsible for providing support to the Logistics function by undertaking general IT Admin, Store/Warehouse duties, picking orders, re stocking, delivering goods that ensure the effective and efficient supply chain and Logistics service is maintained to all areas of the trust.
In this role you will:
• To accurately receipt/place orders either manually or electronically
to maintain stock levels of NHS orders, consumables, equipment,
uniform (including new starter packs), medicines (including
controlled drugs (CDs)) in the store area whilst maintaining clear
audit trails and ensuring regular stock rotation to minimise waste.
• To report any discrepancies in deliveries in a timely manner.
• To ensure that all stocks in the warehouse are secure, safely
positioned and do not represent a hazard to others, taking full
account of Health & Safety regulations at all times and keeping the
stores area clean and tidy. Any hazards or risks are removed,
highlighted and reported appropriately
• To ensure that all stocks, during transportation or delivery, are
secure, safely positioned and do not represent a hazard to others,
disposing of waste in the appropriate manner.
• To pick consumables, medicines and controlled drugs in
preparation for delivery.
• Preparation of van for deliveries, i.e. loading with consumables,
drug pouches, controlled drugs, equipment and uniforms on a daily
basis employing good manual handling techniques.
• Responsible for the security and safe transport of controlled drugs
and other medicines whilst in transit.

You will hold a good standard of education along with a good Basic IT Skills able to use Microsoft office.
Previous Stores/Warehouse and NHS experience is desirable together with multi drop delivery.
A good level of Physical fitness is a must due to heavy lifting, push & pulling of stock and deliveries.
The ability to work unsupervised and to organise your workload is a vital requirement of the role, together with good communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
A Flexible and adaptable approach will ensure that you will respond to the requirements and challenges of the logistical role.
