Position:
Great opportunity to join our team! We are recruiting for a Stock Control Manager to proactively manage the allocation and distribution of stock across our distribution centres, to maximise on all commercial sales opportunities, whilst ensuring free to sell stock availability is continually maintained and balanced.
Key Responsibilities of Stock Control Manager (including but not limited to):
* Work with the Head of Inventory & Analytics, agree and report against the seasonal stock budgets, developing the methods of communication and two-way feedback and effectively offer insights and suggested actions to improve the overall stockholding of the business.
* Seasonally allocate & reserve the business’s stock against all forward orders prior to delivery of goods to the distribution centres and then regularly review to ensure any changes or amendments are captured and re-reserved. Ensure this process is in line with the seasonal buying calendar and timelines are agreed with Buying for each season.
* Work with key stakeholders to continually monitor changes in the orderbook and demand and make corrective actions where necessary.
* Proactively manage the physical stocks, based on both sales history and seasonal forecasts and ensure stock is always balanced correctly between UK and third-party distribution centres to allow the sales team to maximise the free to sell stock opportunities.
* Ensure stock of bestselling lines are always available at the right locations in the right depth based on forward forecasted sales.
* Work closely with Buying to fulfill direct orders from factories to customers in full where possible.
* Work with the Export team to ensure seasonal SMS is shipped and invoiced on time and to the correct locations.
* Continually review internal business process and develop our ERP system to streamline administrative tasks relating to the stock reservation process.
* Work with IT to execute system improvements which support improved stock management.
* Work closely with the Forecasting & Analytics Manager to fully identify the benefits and utilise the outputs of the forecasting and demand planning system.
* Play an active role in departmental and cross functional projects that will result in better and more efficient ways of working, help build relationships with other departments and be a voice that represents the team and its requirements.
* Manage and develop the Stock Control Administrator.
Requirements:
To join us as Stock Control Manager you must have:
Essential:
* Previous experience in a similar type of role from a retail or import merchandising background.
* Experience in data analysis and forecasting methods.
* Good understanding of supply chain processes.
* Strong, commercial, fact-based decision maker with the ability to make key decisions in difficult circumstances.
* High level of IT competency with MS Office suite including Excel.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise workload.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Approachable from all levels in the business and receptive to feedback.
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as use own initiative.
* Drive to make process improvements, challenge and change current ways of working.
* Effective organisational skills, structured & methodical with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to manage and motivate direct reports, giving clear guidance and instructions.
* Desire to provide the team with excellent service.
Desirable:
* Experience of using Dynamics NAV (Navision).
