This is an entry level role with Torbay Council IT and is an opportunity for candidates who feel that they meet the post requirements to learn valuable skills using Microsoft Power BI for Torbay Council's Business Intelligence project.
The successful candidate will fulfil an important Business Intelligence role within Torbay Council as part of the corporate implementation of Microsoft Power BI. As part of a friendly and supportive team, you will be working closely with colleagues to:
• Gather requirements for Power BI reports/dashboards from stakeholders at all levels.
• Establish and collate the data required for BI reports/dashboards working alongside our data specialists.
• Following formal structured training, develop Power BI reports and dashboards.
This would particularly suit someone starting out on or changing direction to an IT career, where the main requirements are a keen interest in IT and a willingness to learn. You will be fully supported in developing valuable technical skills in the form of formal training and working alongside other Power Platform colleagues in the team.
We are looking for someone who is focused on providing an excellent BI service to all our customers within Torbay Council. You should have some experience of helping others regarding the use of IT, but not necessarily in a work environment. You ideally will have experience of using at least one reporting tool, again not necessarily in a work environment.
You will ideally be qualified to degree level in an IT or BI related field, but equivalent practical experience will also be considered. You will be capable of handling conflicting priorities whilst working to tight deadlines and managing a range of activities.
This position is for a fixed term of 24 months from the start date.

• Will have an awareness of the fundamentals of data security.

• Will have experience of using at least one reporting tool although not necessarily in a production/live environment.
