About the role
As a key member of the senior management team of DHSC, reporting directly to the Chief Officer, you will be a member of the Department’s Board and you will be the leader of the team that will ensure we have a long term focus on improving quality and safety across health and social care services on the Island.
Your influence will span Primary Care, Acute Services, Community Health, Mental Health, Social Care, Specialised Care, Public Health, and even Third Sector and Private Sector Organisations. You will have responsibility for leading teams in the Department working across three key areas of business: Quality and Safety, External Quality Regulation as well as Registration and Inspection.
We are currently developing landmark legislation (Regulation of Health and Social Care Bill) to take this to the next level to create consistency for all health and social care providers on the island in terms of the standards of care and treatment. In addition as a member of the Executive Team and Board you will play a full part in overall governance and decision making, directly supporting the Minister and political members and the Chief Officer.
