About the Role: As a CNC Operator, you will play a key role in the production process within the workshop, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, basic machine maintenance while adhering to safety standards, dust control and quality protocols. You will be responsible for handling sheets of material, and positioning them on the CNC machine to ensure the programme works accurately. This is an active position that requires physical involvement throughout the day. Usual working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm - with the potential to earn overtime during peak periods Key Responsibilities: Perform quality inspections on all completed products Carry out basic machine maintenance and cleaning Resolve any unexpected technical issues and liaise effectively with colleagues Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures Maintain a clean and organised workspace. Operating CNC including programming and drawing of basis cutting files. Responsibility for meeting manufacturing deadlines. Manage workloads effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards. Uphold and champion quality assurance throughout all projects. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for CNC programming. Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot operational issues. Utilise hand tools for adjustments and repairs as necessary. Handle materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse environment. Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and workflows. Storage of sheet goods, ensuring they are kept flat at all times Maintaining clear work areas at all times Oversee deliveries and unloading of sheet goods Managing all waste generated by CNCing including cutting to size and storage of off cuts To minimise noise and dust at all times maintaining a clean and organised work environment Operate and program a 3-axis CNC machine to manufacture bespoke components. Interpret technical drawings and CAD designs to ensure accurate production. Manage and prioritise multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality. Collaborate with the design and workshop teams to ensure seamless workflow and product accuracy. Key Skills and Experience: Proven experience operating and programming 5-axis CNC machines, preferably in a joinery or woodworking setting. Understanding of technical drawings, CAD files, and production processes. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Keen attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of tooling, material properties, and CNC maintenance. Knowledge of v-carve pro preferred but not essential. Highly competent with computers and CAD packages Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently under pressure Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
