You will be reporting directly to the senior leadership team and responsible for providing effective day to day operational management across their core business projects streams. As Contracts Manager, you will take an active part in managing the quality of delivery, budget and timely delivery of projects. At the same time driving efficiency and profitability across build operations. You will provide strong leadership to all site teams, striving to maintain positive relationships across a talented and loyal team of employees. With a proven track record in construction, you will have a sound knowledge of complex build processes. You will also be able to demonstrate adaptability and practical on-site experience to ensure client and design team needs are met / exceeded. Whilst the position of Contracts Manager will require work from an office on the outskirts of Perth, you will also have jurisdiction for projects across Scotland (largely Perthshire, Stirlingshire and the Lothian regions). The number and location of the projects will vary from time to time, so adaptability, flexibility and excellent time management skills are essential. Specific duties include: Delivery of the construction programme and all required projects on time, on budget and to the required specification. Close liaison with senior management and commercial teams to ensure commercial viability of current projects and that projects are performing in line with commercial requirements and contractual arrangements. Effective resourcing of plant, materials, internal and subcontract labour to programme schedule. Planning to ensure momentum is built and maintained during each stage of project cycle. Manage site teams and site-based personnel to ensure motivation, quality of workmanship, productivity and service provided throughout project cycle in line with company standards, and expectation. Client / design team liaison, hosting of site meetings and effective record keeping of all documentation / photographs to ensure all build processes are captured and documented in line with contractual requirements and company procedures. Facilitate performance management and development of site-based personnel. Ensure all health and safety requirements are met and adhered to, all required documentation is complete and up to date and all necessary inspections, site induction and toolbox talks are scheduled and documented. Experience required to be shortlisted for this role: Extensive construction experience in high quality main contracting roles, including associated civils works and superstructure. Ability to lead, manage and deliver complex build programmes on time and on budget. Outstanding organisational and leadership skills, experience in developing and managing teams. Previous experience working directly with clients and managing this relationship effectively. Ability to ensure the financial performance of projects remain in line with expectations. Working knowledge of industry’s contractual and legislative requirements including Health & Safety High level understanding of all integrated business functions including HR, IT, Health & Safety, Quality & Finance.
