Reed Accountancy are currently working with a rapidly expanding business based in Swindon who pride themselves on their high-quality products. As they continue to grow they are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. Position Overview: As an Accounts Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, you will assist in various accounting and administrative tasks that ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Manage bank reconciliations and ensure proper coding of transactions. Handle account calls and emails and put together suggested weekly payment schedules. Prepare and submit VAT returns and other relevant tax documentation. Support the financial team in preparing budgets and forecasts. Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve any financial queries. Assist with audit preparation and ensure timely completion of any required financial documentation. Provide general administrative support to the Financial Director and the wider finance team. Key Skills and Experience: Proven experience as an Accounts Administrator, Accounts Assistant, or similar role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations. Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks), stock system software (ideally Unleashed), and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving financial processes. Knowledge of VAT, payroll, and general tax regulations. AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
