The salary for this permanent Educational Psychologistjob is negotiable.
Main Duties:
* Support Vulnerable Children and Those with Special Educational Needs: Provide assessment and consultation to schools, early years settings, families, and young people to facilitate positive outcomes for vulnerable children and those with special educational needs.
* Collaborate with Support Services: Work in partnership with other support services to deliver integrated and coordinated support tailored to the needs of children and young people.
* Engage in Professional Development: Attend and actively participate in whole-service and team meetings, peer supervision sessions, and professional training events as directed by the line manager.
* Deliver Training and Interventions: Contribute to the development and delivery of effective training and interventions for professionals and others across various settings.
* Provide Psychological Advice: Offer Psychological Advice in accordance with the 1996 Education Act and contribute, where necessary, to the Annual Reviews of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Undertake Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned that are commensurate with the grade of the post.
* Adhere to Professional Standards: Work in compliance with the codes of conduct and ethics established by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Division of Educational and Child Psychology of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Requirements of theEducational Psychologist:
* Professional Qualification: Holds or is expected to complete by the end of the year a doctoral or master’s level qualification in Educational Psychology, as accredited by the relevant university.
* HCPC Registration: Eligible for or will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) upon completion of the professional qualification.
* Communication Skills: Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills, effective across a range of purposes and audiences.
* Independent Work and Time Management: Capable of working independently, efficiently organising time and workload, and meeting deadlines as required.
* IT Competence: Possesses basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing, and data entry in spreadsheets, with a willingness to learn additional IT skills as necessary.
* Engagement and Relationship Building: Demonstrates the ability to effectively engage with school staff and parents, fostering their confidence in your professional capabilities.

* Legislation and Safeguarding Knowledge: Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to working with and safeguarding children and vulnerable

* Specialist Knowledge: Possesses specialist knowledge or experience in a specific area of educational psychology relevant to the role. (desirable)
