SMART Repair Technician

Working Hours: Mon-Fri 08.30 - 17.30
The Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented SMART Repair Technician to join our team in the automotive aftermarket sector. As a SMART (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology) Repair Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-quality repairs on vehicles, including paint, dents, scuffs, chips, and other cosmetic issues. You will be expected to use advanced techniques and equipment to restore vehicles to their pre-damage condition.
Main Responsibilities
1. Perform SMART Repairs: Carry out high-quality, efficient repairs on small to medium areas of vehicles, including paintless dent repair (PDR), bumper scuffs, alloy wheel refurbishment, and paint touch-ups.
2. Inspect and Assess Damage: Assess vehicles for minor bodywork and cosmetic damage, identifying the best repair techniques and materials for each job.
3. Quality Assurance: Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest standards, meeting company and industry guidelines.
4. Maintain Equipment and Tools: Ensure all repair tools and equipment are well-maintained and in working order. Report any faults or maintenance issues.
5. Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest repair techniques, industry trends, and technology advancements to improve repair efficiency and quality.
6. Workplace Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, including work completed, materials used, and time taken.
The Candidate
1. Proven experience in SMART repair techniques (PDR, paint touch-up, bumper repair, etc.) within the automotive industry.
2. Experience with water-based paint system.
3. Ideally trained to BHER standard, but training will be given.
4. Strong knowledge of automotive bodywork and cosmetic repairs.
5. Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment, including air compressors, sanding machines, and spray guns.
6. Attention to detail and high standards of craftsmanship.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
8. Excellent communication skills, especially in customer-facing situations.
9. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
10. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
