Finance Director – Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Cardiff
Competitive remuneration package!
Be part of something special—help us Make Wales Proud!
Are you ready to step into a high-energy, dynamic environment at one of the most exciting times in Glamorgan Cricket’s history?
Head4Talent is delighted to be working with Glamorgan Cricket to support the recruitment of a new Finance Director.
With major developments on the horizon, the Club is soon to become a major shareholder in the Hundred franchise, Welsh Fire, alongside a significant new international investor. This transaction affords a significant opportunity to expand the cricket, financial, operational, and commercial activity within the Club, alongside the inflow of major capital funds for development.
The Club has also been awarded Tier 1 status from 2027 within the developing professionalisation of the women’s game. This means that the Club will host its own professional team from 2027, joining the 8 teams to be launched in 2025 to be 1 of 10 teams. A Tier 2 non-professional team is being introduced in 2025.
About Glamorgan County Cricket Club:
At the heart of Welsh cricket, the Club hosts international matches, The Hundred, and a diverse range of events at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Our vision is simple: to "Make Wales Proud" of everything we do, both on and off the field. As we expand our horizons, we remain deeply committed to growing the game of cricket across Wales, driving success, and supporting our people.
Our values of Team, Respect, and Hwyl guide everything we do, and we’re looking for a Finance Director who shares our ambition and passion for the future of Welsh cricket.
The Role:
As Finance Director, you’ll lead our financial strategy during one of the most exciting chapters in our evolution. You’ll work closely with the CEO, Treasurer, and Board to shape our financial future, ensuring the Club is positioned to thrive in the years ahead.
You’ll also act as CFO for Welsh Fire, working to maximise investment opportunities and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including the ECB, Welsh Government, and Cardiff City Council.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the finance team and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting.
* Develop and execute the Club’s financial strategy, including forecasting, budgeting, and revenue generation (The Hundred capital, stadium naming rights, etc.).
* Manage key relationships with stakeholders like the ECB, Welsh Fire investors, Welsh Government, and Cardiff City Council.
* Oversee governance, compliance, and risk management, acting as Club Secretary and supporting the Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee.
* Guide investment decisions and the Club’s estate development strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Accountant with 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles.
* Strong commercial acumen and experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* A strategic thinker with the ability to develop financial strategies that drive long-term value.
* A skilled communicator who can build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
* A leader who thrives in change and adapts quickly to new challenges.
Why Glamorgan?
This is your chance to play a leading role in the future of Welsh cricket. You’ll be at the heart of a passionate, ambitious team with a shared goal of success on and off the field. Alongside a competitive salary, we offer an inclusive environment that supports your professional development.
At Glamorgan County Cricket Club, we value diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds.
