Job Description
Rate of Pay: $16.85/hour USD
Banquet servers are responsible for serving the menu offering for the event and assisting guests as needed.
* Table setting, food station design, and beverage service.
* Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment.
* Maintain complete knowledge of:
o Daily scheduled group functions, times, locations, amount of people.
o Location of all hotel function space and names of rooms.
o All styles of meeting and banquet room settings.
o Correct maintenance and use of equipment.
o All departmental/hotel policies and procedures.
o All safety guidelines.
o Serve wine in accordance to the Banquet Event Order.
* Ability to understand guests’ service needs and set up requirements.
* Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through.
* Ability to follow directions.
* Ability to focus attention on detail.
* Ability to adhere to timelines in completion of set-ups.
* Ability to adapt to priority changes of work flow or requirements.
* Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision from Manager.
* Ability to perform and remain extremely alert while operating designated equipment, machinery and tools.
* Ability to exert physical effort in transporting and placement of tables, chairs, staging, dance floor, podiums and other meeting/banquet room equipment. (When Needed)
* Ability to endure physical movements in performing job functions.
* Ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team.
Qualifications
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
* Food handling certification.
* Ability to communicate satisfactorily in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
* Ability to provide legible communication.
* Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
* High school graduate.
* Previous experience in a similar hospitality position.
* Knowledge of various room set-ups and equipment involved.
* Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques.
* Previous guest relations training.
