Software Dev Engineer II, Amazon One Enterprise
As part of the AWS Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.
How often have you had an opportunity to be a founding member of a team that is tasked with solving a huge business problem through innovative technology? Would you like to know more about how computer vision and machine learning can be used to solve these problems? If this sounds intriguing, then we’d like to talk to you about a role on a new Amazon team tackling a set of problems requiring significant innovation.
Amazon One Enterprise is a brand-new, contactless, palm-based biometrics authentication service that lets employees securely access buildings, enterprise assets, and software resources without the use of badges, PINs, and passcode. The offering includes an Amazon One (AO) device which is deployed at the customer location and cloud services for device management and user authentication.
Amazon One Enterprise removes operational overhead associated with the management of traditional enterprise authentication methods like badges and PINs. IT and security administrators can easily self-install the Amazon One devices, and manage users, devices and software updates via the AWS Management Console.
The service provides a seamless integration to enterprise authorization workflows (e.g., integration with access control systems such as Lenel, Avigilon). Our target customers are medium and large enterprises who want a high security posture for user authentication, to prevent security breaches and fraud.
The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more startup than big company.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers. Given that this is an early-stage initiative, you will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will help invent new features, design, develop and deploy highly scalable and reliable distributed services.
You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that, frankly, haven’t been solved at scale before - anywhere. Along the way, we guarantee that you’ll learn a ton, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.
