Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
Role summary:
The Software Project Lead will develop innovative control systems in Hybrid Powertrain, Transmission, Chassis, Cooling or Body control systems. Working in Simulink, they will lead delivery of functionality from concept to production. Controls are hosted on an Ethernet based zonal domain controller electrical architecture & the scope includes functional safety & security requirements as well as core functionality.
Areas of Responsibility:
1. Working directly with the customer engineers to understand and document key test requirements.
2. Work with sub-system experts to understand sub-system requirements and structure in order to specify and implement and design.
3. Define, design and deliver control functions including requirements, interfaces and algorithms.
4. Implement control functions in Matlab Simulink/Stateflow.
5. Ensure Model compliance to MAAB standards.
6. C-code generation and analysis.
7. Conduct SW components testing using MIL and SIL techniques.
8. Testing SW components within the system on the HIL.
9. SW components verification & validation against requirements.
10. Development of MIL test strategy to ensure verified design and sub-system & software requirement.
11. Work cross-functionally to deliver SW components.
Knowledge / Experience:
Essential:
1. Extensive experience working in an automotive Tier 1 with OEM end to end feature development.
2. Demonstrative experience in the automotive sector.
3. A strong technical degree in mechanical, electronic, electrical, control systems or automotive engineering - consideration will be given to other qualifications or significant relevant experience in lieu of this.
4. Model-based, auto-coded software prototyping and production implementation.
5. Support vehicle software testing and calibration.
6. Excellent Control theory background.
7. Excellent knowledge of Automotive Software across chassis system, hybrid supervisor, body systems, power management, transmission controls or HVAC applications.
8. Good knowledge of the above system(s) at System Architecture Level.
9. Software requirements capture and detailed software design into specifications.
10. Model-based control software development and verification.
11. AUTOSAR software components generation and integration.
12. Verification testing in MIL, SIL and HIL environments, and in-vehicle integration.
13. Compliance to industry standards such as ISO26262 and ASPICE.
14. Experience in fixed- and floating-point modelling.
15. Experience of designing and executing verification strategies and test plans for complex automotive systems.
16. Good grasp of test result analysis, issue reporting and problem-solving techniques.
17. Proven personal & team workload management skills.
18. Collaborative, working effectively across teams & departments to deliver on time & to quality.
Desirable:
Experience with Devops and SCM tools such as GIT, Jenkins.
