Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Department is highly active in clinical research with an extensive portfolio of NCRI and commercial clinical studies across all disease areas, and has recently been renewed as one of 13 Bloodwise TAP (therapy accelerated programme) centres across the UK. Our clinical trial activities are currently supported by a team of 13.6 whole-time equivalent posts (nurses, data managers, set-up coordinator, a pharmacist and a technician). Many of the Consultants are active members of the NCRI clinical study groups and subgroups with broad representation across disease areas and NUH is a major recruiter to NCRI-led collaborative academic studies.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MBBS or Equivalent
2. Full GMC
Desirable criteria
1. Higher Degree
2. MRCP UK or Equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
1. Delivery of Acute Clinical Care
2. Able to demonstrate CMT1 & 2 competencies in medicine and able to evidence that currently working at IMT 3 level
3. Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job. Experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk
4. Experience of working in haematology and commitment to specialty as a career
Communication and Relationship Skills
Essential criteria
1. Demonstrates clarity in written/spoken communication & capacity to adapt language as appropriate to the situation. Able to build rapport, listen persuade & negotiate
Analytical and Judgement skills
Essential criteria
1. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
Desirable criteria
1. Evidence of completion of an audit project
