What will you be doing as a Transport Supervisor?
14. Assist with the smooth running of a busy transport department by effective management
15. Manage on road issues and the delivery failure process, liaising with customers
16. Ensure thorough training of drivers and porters in transportation safety and compliance
17. Allocate fleet and crews for home delivery to correct routes, planning and optimising fleet
18. Pre-shift/De-brief of all road crews
19. Manage performance to a high standard along with compliance to all legal requirements
20. Ensuring high standards are met in line with Ikea’s quality processes
21. Managing drivers hours ensuring records are accurate in readiness for audits
22. Undertake investigations where necessary for any incidents including missing items
23. Ensure Safe Systems of Work processes are followed in the line with site Health and Safety regulations
Relevant skills and experience as a Transport Supervisor:
24. Previous experience in supervisory role within transport is essential
25. Strong IT skills including MS Office and the ability to use transport management systems
26. Good knowledge of driver/transport legislation
27. Strong communication skills both written and verbally
28. Positive and flexible approach
29. Able to work on own initiative and comfortable in working to deadlines
