Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Generalist Lecturer for the South West Region. This role is full-time, working 37 hours per week. Within the South West Region, we are the education provider in 8 prisons, and we currently have a vacancy for the following cluster:
* Devon Cluster: HMP Exeter and HMP Channings Wood.
About HMP Exeter: HMP Exeter is a Category B local and resettlement men's prison which is dedicated to fostering a safe and educational environment that empowers men to acquire new skills for a successful transition upon release.
About HMP Channings Wood: Located in Devon, HMP Channings Wood is an acclaimed Category C men's prison operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The facility, focused on security and safeguarding, includes a main site and a vulnerable prisoner's unit.
As this is a regional role, you will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
Day to Day Duties:
* Organisational and administrative work.
* Preparation, assessment and marking.
* Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
* Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.
Minimum Requirements:
* A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work. In relation to vocational teaching posts, an appropriate qualification in that field will be deemed satisfactory.
* All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
* Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
