The Opportunity
The Water Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, efficient maintenance of Leep Utilities clean water assets for the Southern Region. The role will be required to take responsibility and accountability for both preventative and reactive maintenance needs, ensuring that standards of service are maintained aligned with business and regulatory requirements and Water Licensed obligations. This position shall ensure that all Third Party clean water connection requests are managed to ensure the asset design & performance integrity is maintained and that statutory obligations of new connection provision are met by Leep Utilities.
The Water Operations Manager South shall produce regular business reports that are able to demonstrate the Operational Performance, Ongoing Maintenance position and Regulatory and Licence compliance of the clean water assets in the Southern Region to the UK Water Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing Asset Information: Ensure the integrity of asset information for all water assets in the Southern region, keeping our records accurate and up to date.
* Overseeing Network Mapping: Monitor and manage the mapping process to guarantee that “as-built” drawings of clean water assets are correct and meet standards.
* Emergency Planning: Ensure that Emergency Response & Contingency plans are in place for all Leep clean water sites within the Southern region.
* Out-of-Hours Support: Be part of our emergency response team, providing vital out-of-hours cover when needed.
* Supporting Water Operations: Assist the UK Water Operations Manager with all water asset operations and related enquiries in the Southern region.
* Ensuring Compliance: Make sure business processes covering contractor activities are in place and adhered to at all times.
* Seamless Project Handover: Work closely with Project Delivery and Connection teams to ensure new assets are handed over with complete records, agreements, and contracts.
* Quality Assurance: Collaborate with teams to conduct site inspections, audits, and contractor checks, ensuring assets meet specifications and are fit for purpose.
* Regulatory Compliance: Support wastewater project managers in ensuring that inspections and contractor checks comply with the Water Act, Sewers for Adoption standards, and LNWL requirements.
* Asset Management System: Proactively use the Company’s Asset Management System to document all planned and reactive activities, supporting operational objectives.
About You
* Water Industry Experience: You have experience working in the water industry with a strong understanding of water assets, holding an in-depth knowledge of how water networks operate, from the point of connection to the end user.
* Industry Knowledge: A solid grasp of the general utilities sector, with a proven track record in managing water utility assets.
* Health & Safety Awareness: Familiarity with H&S management and audits, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the regulatory standards that apply to the water business and the processes required for compliance.
* Tech-Savvy & Analytical: Strong computer and reporting skills to effectively manage asset data and operational insights.
* Adaptable & Fast-Paced: You thrive in a dynamic environment, working to tight and urgent timeframes with a proactive approach.
