Mossbourne Federation is the realisation of Sir Clive Bourne’s dream to provide the children of Hackney with an outstanding education. Built on a formula of high expectations, doing the simple things right, and the belief that all children can succeed, Mossbourne offers an environment where all learners, regardless of ability, benefit from innovative and enlightened approaches to teaching and learning. Our calm working atmosphere creates well-rounded individuals who excel in the arts, on the sporting field, and academically.
In 2025, our 20th anniversary year, we are delighted to have expanded to include three Thurrock schools in our Federation. We now consist of seven academies:
1. Mossbourne Community Academy (MCA) secondary and sixth form, Hackney
2. Mossbourne Fobbing Academy (MFA) secondary and sixth form, Thurrock
The successful applicant will lead the Art Department which is within the Expressive Arts and Technology Learning Area; they will be passionate about Art education and have the drive and ambition to lead a department that inspires and excites a future generation of students who share a love of their subject. They will be well organised, energetic, and willing to go the ‘extra mile’ for our students. They will have a proven track record of successful teaching across different key stages and believe that all students will succeed in their study of Art, Photography, and/or Textiles.
We are looking for a leader with the vision, grit, and academic acumen to support and develop the Learning Area’s success. We encourage applications from teachers with experience leading a department or with a track record of holding an area of responsibility who are ready to embrace the responsibility of being a member of a whole academy leadership team.
