What You'll Be Doing As Head of HSE Compliance & Strategy, you'll oversee the development and execution of company-wide initiatives to ensure the highest standards in workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and quality assurance. Key Areas of Responsibility: Champion a safety-first culture across global operations, aligning practices with legal obligations and industry benchmarks Lead the transformation of HSE/Q systems, embedding positive behaviours and engagement at all organisational levels Collaborate with senior leadership to support operational teams in meeting their statutory and internal HSE responsibilities Design and implement continuous improvement programs, including awareness campaigns, audits, and training Define and monitor key HSE metrics and performance indicators, presenting progress updates to the executive team Ensure documentation and policies are up-to-date, compliant with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards, and aligned with regional laws Oversee all external certification and audit activities, ensuring ongoing accreditation Investigate incidents thoroughly, producing detailed reports and ensuring timely corrective actions Develop and lead an annual internal audit and inspection plan, identifying trends and driving accountability Manage the internal HSE team, including mentoring, goal-setting, and resource planning Track and manage department budgets, aligning with company objectives Contribute to bid documentation, contractor pre-qualification, and on boarding processes Build and maintain relationships with external regulators, contractors, and safety bodies Regularly update leadership on risk management, regulatory changes, and team performance What You'll Bring A NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma (or equivalent qualification) in Occupational Health & Safety Background in a senior HSE role within a manufacturing or industrial setting (minimum 3 years in a leadership capacity) Strong working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 frameworks Familiarity with UK health and safety legislation (and international standards such as OSHA if applicable) Proven leadership and project management capabilities, especially in safety-focused change management ISO Internal Auditor certification (preferred, but not essential) Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels What's on Offer A key leadership position in a well-respected company undergoing exciting growth Highly competitive pay, flexible depending on experience Comprehensive benefits and a collaborative working culture Long-term career development and strategic influence For further information on this vacancy, or any other job in Belfast or wider Northern Ireland, please apply via the link below or contact Jack Groves in the strictest confidence.
