Job Purpose
Key Responsibilities
To lead the delivery of projects to time, cost and specification ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements are managed throughout the process. You will develop major new build projects during the consenting phase to ensure robust designs and programmes are in place. Management of the programme, budgets, SHESQ and risks and Community Stakeholders to preserve reputation. You’ll provide appropriate project input into the pre-sanction design process including review of the proposals for SHESQ management, project risk, deliverability, programme, contract management and safety performance. You will also develop and have accountability for implementation and management of project delivery, design, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure and post-completion requirements. Act as single point of contact on behalf of the Project Manager for instruction of works or any changes to these.
You will also…
* Act as the key interface between the project and both internal and external teams. Hold the responsibility for developing these key relationships.
* Manage and co-ordinate Contractors and project teams, including the co-ordination and integration of projects across delivery interfaces, to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and specification and with minimal disruption.
* Provide regular project monthly status reports which will include: SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management and current and forecast financial performance.
* Ensure activities and interactions are compliant with Cyber policy & procedures.
* Monitor Contractor site activities to ensure compliance with Gas Distribution SHESQ standards, Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and CDM regulations.
* Manage the Contractor commissioning and performance testing process on site. Ensure the provision of accurate ‘as built’ documentation to handover of the assets onto the system to the standards defined in the design.
* Ensure all data is captured accurately and handled/stored to comply with Cadent Policies & Procedures.
* Manage complex third-party issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations, and Community Stakeholders to preserve reputation.
* Chair monthly progress and cost review meetings and regularly attend weekly site meetings and Chair/attend monthly coordination and commissioning meetings to preserve reputation.
* Promote a positive safety culture through visible proactive, consistent, and influential behaviours.
* Keep the company safe by co-operating with others to ensure a co-ordinated approach to promote a clear understanding of each party’s duties, roles and responsibilities for Safety and Wellbeing.
* Report all incidents, near misses, hazards, acting as necessary to control hazard as appropriate.
* Participate within the Network Operational Standby rota.
Skills and Experience
* Engineering Degree/HNC/SNVQ/NVQ or equivalent operational experience in network engineering techniques supported by relevant training or qualifications.
* IOSH.
* SCO AE & CP.
* APM Foundation level.
* Professional registration is desirable.
* Project Management discipline including knowledge of methods, processes and techniques to deliver to time, cost and quality measures.
* Delivery of engineering projects preferable within the gas industry.
* Comprehensive knowledge of and understanding of gas plant and systems.
* Understanding of risk management principles and tools.
* Demonstrable understanding of HSE regulations relevant to role (e.g., PSSR, COMAH, PSR).
* Understanding of Process Safety Principles.
* Contract Management experience.
* Strong understanding of, CDM, SCCF, SCO and Safety Management Systems.
* Experience of administering or Managing QMS.
