Position Summary
The primary role of the workshop technician is to carry out maintenance and refurbishment activities on ROV systems and/ or associated tooling packages in the Aberdeen workshop.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
1. Carry out maintenance, (mobilization, demobilization, periodic and in-storage) and refurbishment activities on company and customer owned equipment
2. Ensure that all work is performed to conform to company operating and maintenance standards and in accordance with all current legislation
3. Update equipment maintenance systems to record details of all repairs and maintenance of company owned equipment
4. Assist with preparation and mobilization of ROV systems and/ or associated tooling packages
5. Participate in daily toolbox talks for workshop group
6. Participate in observation system and conduct STOP audits on a regular basis
7. Participate in safety training courses and initiatives
8. Ensure that all tasks are performed using correct procedures
9. Participate in creation of Risk Assessments and JSEA
10. Participate in QHSE initiatives such as continuous improvement implementation and monitoring
11. Adopt and promote 6S and lean principals
12. Assist with any other duties as and when required
NON-ESSENTIAL
13. Participate in the company competence scheme to allow progression through company career framework.
14. If required, travel overseas and to offshore locations to provide onsite technical support
15. If required, attend project kick-off meetings to provide technical support
Qualifications
REQUIRED
16. City Guilds, SVQ level 3 in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering
17. Working knowledge of subsea equipment, including, but not limited to ROV systems, IWOCS, Workover Systems and Tooling packages
18. Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
19. Demonstratable awareness of 6S and lean principles
20. Working at heights experience
21. Overhead crane certification
DESIRED
22. HNC /HND in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering
23. City and Guilds- Pressure Testing SCQF Level 6
24. Knowledge of subsea XT controls and operations
25. Knowledge of Manifold, Umbilical and Subsea XT installation operations
26. 6S Champion
27. Forklift Truck certification
