About the role
We have a busy annual programme of events that include private donor dinners, a large reception for our supporters, a fundraising dinner quiz night, a carol concert, and provide service for external events hosted by our supporters and partners to raise funds for the charity. Theirworld seeks donations from a range of individuals, organisations, charitable trusts and foundations (we do not seek government funds).
This role on the development team helps us manage to organise and manage our events and support the fundraising and relationships with donors connected to our events and activities. We are looking for someone who thrives on building relationships with people and who is proactive, creative, and keen to go the extra mile who has a proven track record in great event organisation.
We are seeking a creative and hard-working Fundraising and Events Manager to join our small team. This individual will have very strong attention to detail, teamwork and multitasking skills, as well as the enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to make a positive contribution to the growth and development of our development team.
This role may suit a graduate with 2-6 years’ events experience in charity or NGO fundraising and donor relations, or someone with experience working in an in-house role at a company working on events or education organisation that works with the charitable or NGO sector.
Main responsibilities
* Support our systems that track and monitor donor engagement of current and prospective partners (foundations, philanthropists, general supporters), including stewardship processes
* Proactively work to service and build existing and new relationships with specific emphasis on: individual donors who take part in our events, supporting trust and foundation support and engagement with donor philanthropists who may make multi-year commitments to Theirworld

* Liaise with key donor partners and funders to ensure strong, mutually beneficial engagement and positive experiences.
* Increase and record knowledge of our donor motivations and history, developing our organisational knowledge for the long-term.
* Work with the communications and digital team to maintain information about the donor partnerships on the website and promoting donor partnerships in the media
* Identify opportunities to engage staff, employees and networks of major partners
* Managing fundraising challenges (e.g. marathons, fun runs, walks) and similar activities for supporters
* Organise periodic mailings, communications and engagements with our partners in written, digital and other formats and providing updates on our work
* Engage with our U.S.-based organisation to support any overlap or partnership in fundraising and events

* Oversee logistics for event production
* Work collaboratively and productively with staff, volunteers, and vendors
* Ensure VIPs, including board members, event committee members, etc. have a positive experience with event development and execution and are engaged in effective ways to expand outreach and achieve organisational goals
These responsibilities and functions may be adjusted slightly for the right candidate and over time as needs change. Short-term staff and/or consultants may be able to support in some specific instances (e.g. a large event), budgets permitting.
