An opportunity has arisen for an ophthalmic technician to join our progressive ophthalmology team at Imperial College Healthcare Trust, London.
You will be based within the Ophthalmic Imaging Department and work as part of a multidisciplinary team of consultant ophthalmologists, ophthalmic nursing, and other support staff across multiple sites.
This interesting and challenging role involves performing diagnostic tests on patients presenting with a variety of eye conditions. A knowledge of eye anatomy and pathology, along with experience of specialist ophthalmic imaging equipment, is desirable. We are looking for a reliable person who is able to pay close and accurate attention to detail. You must also demonstrate excellent communication skills, be caring, enthusiastic, and committed to working as part of a large team dedicated to providing high-quality patient-focused care.

Main duties of the job
Ophthalmic Imaging plays a vital part in patients' care. You will be providing diagnostic services for patients as part of their clinical pathway, assisting the multidisciplinary team to provide an efficient and effective ophthalmic service. A key element is to assist medical teams in providing gold standard patient care, which involves meeting and interacting with patients in a friendly and professional manner.

Education/Qualifications
* GCSEs (or equivalent) or Functional Skills at level 1 in English and Maths or willingness to attain.
Experience
* Demonstrate a clear insight into the role.
* Experience of customer service.
* Experience in Ophthalmology.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
* Knowledge of image management.
* Ability to learn new IT software and specialised machinery.
* Undertake VA, IOP, Auto-refraction, topography.
* Experience of quality management systems.
