We have an exciting opportunity for experienced RICS registered valuer to join our commercial valuations team based in Birmingham. The post holder will contribute to growing the Commercial Valuations business, building client relations and work with the existing department Partners to grow the team.Our Birmingham based Valuations team cover the whole of East Midlands, West Midlands and North Wales and report on a wide range of properties including commercial investment properties, operational assets, residential developments, commercial and mixed-use developments.

Main tasks
1. Work within the existing valuation team in Birmingham, providing valuations for loan security as well as financial reporting purposes and other valuation requirements.
2. Carry out inspections, calculate floor and site areas, comparable research, planning and statutory enquiries, company trading analysis, lease reading and summarising, development / option agreement reading and reviewing, preparation of valuations / development appraisals.
3. Contribution to the growth of the business by identifying new business opportunities across the Commercial valuation sector.
4. Assist in the delivery of major projects.
5. Financial and client reporting.
6. Delivery of valuation reports in accordance with client instructions and RICS Valuation Standards.
7. Participation in the ongoing development and implementation of an effective profit centre business plan developed in-line with the Carter Jonas vision.
What does it take to be successful?
You will be an experienced chartered surveyor and registered valuer, with a strong knowledge of valuations across commercial and/or residential assets. You will have good working knowledge of relevant legislation and will ideally have a strong understanding of the local market to be able to identify new opportunities to grow the business further. Travel will be required in this role and a driving licence is essential.
