Quality inspector vacancy in an engineering company based in Bletchley.
Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00
The work routine and work environment can be varied and may involve working extra hours as per the production deadline concerned. Instruction on the use of company verification equipment is provided, and ideally, candidates will be able to operate a forklift truck to assist with the movement, loading, and unloading of goods and materials.
The quality control inspector job role involves analyzing measurements, conducting tests, and monitoring the production phases. They sort out items that fail to meet quality standards and enhance the production process to reduce the chances of failure.
The key roles and responsibilities of a Quality Control Inspector are:
1. Carry out quality assessment measurements of all products ready to be shipped and incoming raw materials, including metrological and visual assessment.
2. Operate the CMM; experience with Aberlink software is ideal, but experience with PC-DMIS is an advantage.
3. Take a thorough look at the plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the product requirements.
4. Reject all incoming raw materials that fail to meet quality expectations and report the issue promptly.
5. Resolve quality-related issues and adhere to deadlines.
6. Assist the QM in designing an efficient quality system and protocols which can be used across all company needs.
7. Prepare documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed reports and performance records.
8. Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met.
9. Guide the production team about quality control issues to enhance product quality.
10. Assist the Head of Quality with KPI data and monitor customer satisfaction levels.
11. Monitor the production phases at various levels.
Educational requirements for the quality control inspector function:
1. Must have at least secondary education, achieving high school certification grades.
2. Real-time experience in an engineering domain is preferred, but not essential.
3. Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP/MRP systems.
5. Good organizational skills – self-learning and able to work autonomously.
