Positions are anticipated to last for a minimum of 7 months, commencing from mid-March, during which time you will be based out of one of our three offices in Cardiff, Cheltenham and Elkstone. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn and further develop your ecology survey and consultancy skills, working alongside our talented ecology team. Who are EDP? The role We think this job would be perfect for someone who will is looking to start their Ecology consultancy journey. Duties will include – Undertaking habitat and protected species surveys; Providing Clerk of Works support; Assisting with data input and analysis, research and report writing; and getting involved in mitigation and best practice techniques required by the professional consultancy industry. During this time, you will be supervised and supported by a strong team of expert ecologists, enabling you to gain valuable training and experience. Your skills Of course, we’ll need you to have all the right qualifications and experience – excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. A relevant first degree and a good understanding of ecology and wildlife legislation whilst also being proficient using MS Office are sought for. Applicants with previous experience of protected species surveys and/or NE/NRW licences are highly desirable. But to enjoy your time at EDP, you’ll also need to be personable, passionate, and proactive. We’re a friendly bunch but we do work hard. You’ll need to hold a full, valid UK driving licence as your role will involve you travelling to various sites across the country; access to your own car for business use is essential.
