Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications and providing exceptional patient care. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the correct medications in a timely manner. Your expertise in medication administration and pharmacy practices will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities
1. Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
2. Assist in the preparation and labelling of medications for distribution.
3. Provide information and advice to patients regarding their medications, including usage, side effects, and storage.
4. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to medication administration.
5. Collaborate with pharmacists to manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as needed.
6. Ensure that the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
7. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with pharmacy practices and regulations.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
2. Strong knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care principles.
3. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
5. Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for record keeping and inventory management.
6. A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in pharmacy practice.
