Children, Young People and Families Service (CYPFS) within Livewell Southwest In conjunction with other members of the CYPFS management team, you will be expected to lead in the development and implementation of the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST). In line with the emerging national model, your team will be providing a high quality service to meet the local needs of children, young people and their parents/carers within a specific educational community setting. The post holder will be responsible for the overall management of a locality MHST. In year one this is expected to be with one locality team, this is a fast developing service and further locality teams will be added to the post holders portfolio of management and leadership responsibility. The post holder will be responsible for the effective operational management of the Trail Blazer Mental Health Support Team including line management of staff, financial and performance management. They will use effective leadership, change management and team building skills to monitor, evaluate and develop the service provided. The MHSTs will deliver evidence based interventions supporting emotional wellbeing, primarily in an educational setting. Under your supervision and support, staff will be delivering full assessments of care needs, risk assessment and providing evidence based interventions where required. The post holder will maintain managerial responsibility for the team caseload, overseeing referrals and the allocation of clients. S/he may also maintain a clinical role and/or a caseload dependent upon locality need. In addition to providing specialist skills and experience in delivering interventions to an educational setting you will provide formal and informal education and training to other members of the team, other disciplines and external teams as identified within the service delivery. Furthermore the post holder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining team systems and processes for the effective operation of the team, including outcome measurements, audit and annual service policy review. The service will be available Monday to Friday 9-5pm, though there may be times when workshops or community work are required evenings or weekends in line with service delivery to support whole school approaches. It is essential that the post holder is flexible. The post holder will act in support with Service Leaders and fellow Team Leaders in providing Clinical Leadership and advice across the MHST Service both locally and nationally. The post holder will act in support of the MHST Operational and Clinical Service Manager, deputising and carrying out delegated roles, duties and responsibilities as required and as part of a dedicated Management structure.
