Senior Payroll Officer - Stafford/Hybrid – 4 Month Fixed Term Contract – Circa £34k
I'm recruiting for a Senior Payroll Officer for my client who is one of the largest providers of affordable homes in the West Midlands, employing almost 1,000 people across the whole business.
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the effective production of the group’s payroll, including the support of the Payroll Officers.
You will also assist the Payroll Manager with key payroll projects and provide technical support to meet the demands of the service and business.

The key aspects of the Senior Payroll Officer role include:
1. Payroll delivery and ensure the accuracy of payrolls under my client’s organization and making relevant adjustments where appropriate.
2. Calculating and processing pay awards.
3. Support the maintenance of payroll systems and ensure they are fit for purpose including Tax Year end.
4. Team leadership.
We are looking for a payroll professional with in-depth payroll knowledge, pension legislation knowledge, and experience of working within a payroll environment.
Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, and strong numeracy and analytical skills are of course a must.
The Senior Payroll Officer should ideally have a CIPP qualification and excellent working knowledge of Excel (including pivot tables, lookups).
