An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 7 Emergency Nurse / Paramedic / AHP or Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join Newton Abbot Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) as we are expanding our team.
You will be responsible for the delivery of autonomous care in the clinical assessment, examination, and management of minor injury and illness presentations, continually advancing the boundaries of practice of the service. This includes acting as an expert resource to the nurse/paramedic team and supporting them in the delivery of evidence-based, safe, effective, and quality care.
Providing additional support in leading and co-coordinating the clinical and managerial requirements of minor injuries in the UTC, you will support the Advanced Practice Clinical Lead and lead by example, empowering staff in their personal and professional development to continually develop their range of clinical skills to modernize and improve patient care, including encouraging and delivering training updates.
You will proactively support the Unit in achieving both national and local Emergency and Urgent care standards and work closely with the Emergency Department to improve pathways and ensure seamless transitions for patients across services.

About us
The UTC is a busy environment that supports the local community by seeing a wide variety of patients of all ages with minor injuries and illnesses. We work remotely from the local Emergency Department but have close links to ensure the local communities have a high-quality service and are ideally placed to support in alleviating pressures on our Emergency Departments by relocating patients from the main hospital site.
We also operate, and our team rotates into two satellite units, providing our communities with a local service that keeps many patients closer to home.

Person Specification
Clinical
* NMC or HCPC registered
* Demonstrable experience as an autonomous practitioner
* Senior experience in an ED/UTC/Walk-in service or GP
* Advanced clinical skills
* Non-medical prescribing
* Evidence of clinical teaching
* Evidence of leadership experience
