Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the licensing process and negotiate agency, subscription, consortia, and transformative agreement sales with global customers.
* Support sales by engaging with customers to resolve issues, answer queries, and provide tender documentation.
* Maintain and update standard licence templates in collaboration with the Sales Team.
* Collaborate with Sales, Legal Team, and others to develop licensing terms and conditions for new business requirements.
* Lead the licensing process for complex contracts, advising and negotiating deals with the Sales Team.
* Partner with colleagues to understand customers' licence requirements and implications of changes, drafting effective legal clauses.
* Act as a subject matter expert on contract law, providing guidance and advising team members on document review.
Requirements:
* Legal degree or equivalent experience.
* Experience in drafting and negotiating license content globally.
* Experience working with global customers, including academic institutions and corporate.
* Background in contracts, ideally in publishing.
* Ability to review, understand, and draft sound legal clauses and text.
* Proven ability to exercise professional judgement in advising decisions.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge of STEM publishing desirable but not essential.
