Key Account & Business Development Manager (Food / Packaging) c65-75k Base + Bonus + Car

As a key commercial account manager, you will manage a range of accounts across the UK in the Food/manufacturing and food containers/packaging/closures area. As an equally strong new business development manager and account manager, you will ensure that you are maximizing sales, enhancing margins, and increasing business development for future business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver the sales targets, margin enhancement, and profit projections within the UK customer base by ensuring product mix, pricing, standardization, and NPD.
2. Be the focal point for the management of the company relationship with its customers, ensuring the relationship is proactive.
3. Prepare, maintain, and develop the Key Account Plans and management of major customers.
4. Liaise with plants and customers about medium- and long-term sales forecasting, including the responsibility for customer forecast accuracy and management of slow-moving stock.
5. Manage customer complaints in close liaison with plant teams, ensuring effective and proactive communication and resolution.
6. Manage various customer projects both with the customer and internally within the company.
7. Produce monthly sales reports and data on time in full.
8. Responsible for pursuing overdue accounts to ensure due diligence regarding working capital.
9. Develop positive, proactive relationships across internal departments.
10. Foster new customer engagement within the UK and networking of targeted accounts, representing the company, increasing the current UK sales.
Qualifications / Experience:
1. Experience of working in a commercial environment, ideally within the food or packaging, or food manufacturing industry.
2. Evidence of new business development.
3. Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
4. High levels of commercial acumen.
5. Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to understand technical information and promote company products and innovations.
6. Able to effectively manage and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
7. Strong interpersonal skills: written, verbal, and listening.
8. Proactive & enthusiastic individual with a self-driven and motivated attitude.
9. Ability to travel as required with the role, up to 30% of the time.
Salary: Dependent on experience
Bonus: 15-20%
Holiday: 25 days
