Job Title: IT Manager
Location: Hull / Need to be in a commutable distance
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (flexible as role demands)

Role Purpose: The IT Manager is accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines. This includes the implementation and maintenance of the Company’s computing needs, delivering mission-critical infrastructure, and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.
Systems Management:
* Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
* Project management and vendor coordination
* Manage network servers and technology tools
* Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
* Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
* Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and implement fixes
* Set up accounts and workstations
* Troubleshoot issues and outages
* Upgrade systems and software to group standards with new releases and models
System Security:
* Maintain security through access controls and backups
* Secure networks through firewalls, password protection, and other systems
* Analyse IT specifications to assess security risks
* Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans
* Install, configure, and upgrade security software, e.g., antivirus programs
* Inspect hardware for vulnerable points of access
* Monitor network activity to identify issues early
* Act on privacy breaches and malware threats
* Serve as a security expert and conduct training as necessary
Policies & Procedures:
* Compile and maintain a Company IT operating manual including technical information and IT policies
* Ensure that all staff are trained in such policies and procedures and adhere to them
General:
* Advise management with regard to future-proofing the IT infrastructure
* Continuously develop and improve your own personal IT knowledge and skills
* Keep up to date with current technologies
* Perform periodic workstation assessments
* Inclusion in the Global IT committee

Experience:
* Proven working experience as an IT Manager
* Proven experience as a computer security specialist
* Familiarity with security frameworks, e.g., Cybersecurity framework, and risk management methodologies
* Knowledge of patch management, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention
* Familiarity with public key infrastructure (PKI) and cryptographic protocols (SSL/TLS)
* Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems
* Expertise in data centre management and data governance
* Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation
* Essential manufacturing experience including knowledge of ERP
* Knowledge and experience of SQL, data management, Crystal Reports, and Power BI
* Experience in infrastructure and systems integration
* BS in Computer Science, MIS, or a similar field
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proactive and resourceful when issues arise
* Excellent organisational skills
* An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving ability
* Excellent customer service skills
