Job Description:
The expected base salary range for this role is between 60,000 - 65,000 GBP annually.
Reporting into the Regional VP of Paid Media, the Director of Direct Investment is a seasoned leader responsible for cultivating strategic media partnerships and driving growth for our clients and Jellyfish as a business. To be successful, this individual should have deep industry expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to optimize processes for operational efficiency. Directors are also accountable for executing media plans, team coaching, and ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead (D)OOH & other channels media recommendation process that reflects strategic partnership in order to demonstrate thought leadership and data-driven decision making in alignment with client objectives; Ensure these plans include negotiated value and savings.
2. Oversee campaign execution from planning to optimization with a team, ensuring flawless delivery and troubleshooting issues as needed; Seamlessly navigate campaign complexities as the number of partners, tactic types, and financial requirements increases.
3. Promote account growth, positive relationships, and client retention.
4. Inform early decision making regarding KPIs, measurement, investment, and partnerships; Collaborate with channel leads to develop an integrated and innovative media approach; Showcase the value that the JF team brings via negotiation expertise and savings generation.
5. Reinforce careful QA at all stages of activation – from booking to data delivery.
6. Collaborate across teams to assemble, interpret, and present campaign performance – leading to meaningful optimization and value for the client.
7. Manage the junior team to execute media optimizations in conjunction with our partners; Act as an escalation resource as needed.
8. Mentor junior team members, ensuring their ongoing development through training, delegation, and career guidance; Foster a collaborative environment that supports high-quality team output.
9. Review and develop Jellyfish Media Buying processes to prevent issues and optimize for efficiencies.
10. Collaborate with Account, HR, and other key stakeholders to ensure that the Direct Investment team is properly resourced.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and new media buying tactics. Share insights and innovations with the team to ensure Jellyfish remains a leader in the media investment space.
2. Act as a liaison between the Direct Investment team and other internal departments (including but not limited to Account, Analytics, Programmatic) to align media strategy across disciplines.
3. Maintain communication with Account and HR leads in order to ensure resourcing needs are expressed and met.
4. Support new business initiatives by leveraging deep industry knowledge and relationships. Assist in the creation of proposals, pitches, and presentations for potential clients.
Qualifications
Requirements
1. +8 years of experience handling planning for regional brands.
2. Commercially astute and an effective negotiator.
3. Proficient in Tableau and other data manipulation tools like Excel.
4. Efficiently manages time and priorities via multi-tasking and/or delegation.
5. Client-Centric Approach: Enjoys developing long-lasting relationships with clients (and partners!).
6. Analytics & Performance: A data nerd who looks forward to interpreting campaign results and applying those insights through optimization.
7. Creative Problem Solving: Motivated by complex issues; Can think outside the current partner, process, or tool to imagine and implement unique solutions.
8. Team Collaboration: Conscientious communicator who can galvanize a team around a common goal; Diverse contributions welcomed.
