Catterick Salvation Army is looking for a Catering Assistant to assist in the safe and efficient operation of the kitchen area and the “front of house” part of the centre, working as part of a team to fulfil the following roles as listed under the kitchen and counter duties.
Working hours: 20 hours per week working Monday - Thursday evenings

You will:
* Set up the cafe, take orders, serve customers, and maintain hygiene standards.
* Be enthusiastic with excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
* Maintain all areas including the tables to a tidy, clean and hygienic standard, ensuring tables are cleared and cleaned promptly.
* Prepare hot food and cold sandwiches as per the orders.
* Keep the dishwashing area clean and tidy, free from excess dirty crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils coming from the counter.

Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant health and safety requirements and procedures.
* Experience of using cleaning equipment.
* Ability to monitor stock of cleaning materials and recognise their usage so new stock can be ordered.
* Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and on their own initiative.
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including the ability to move chairs / tables / equipment as required.
* Ability to work as part of a team to ensure the overall aims of The Salvation Army – Canterbury are achieved.
* Ability to be flexible with working hours and is reliable.
* Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK and the successful completion of the probation period.
