Ben sometimes displays behaviour that may seem challenging, such as not wanting to get ready for school, or making inappropriate comments to strangers. The children’s mum is a wheelchair user. She needs general assistance, for example to help get her to the toilet or make a cup of tea; her disability limits what she can physically do. Overview of role: The day begins by collecting the children from school by car. The after-school routine includes supervising homework, preparing dinner, and assisting with bedtime, and light household duties related to the children and sometimes walking the dog. During school holidays, you'll have the chance to organise engaging activities, such as trips to parks or museums, or baking with the children. You may have sole charge of the children at times, while at others, their mum or dad will be involved. This role is a job share with one other Snap Care Support Worker, and the school holiday hours can be mutually agreed. The family plan to move to a fully adapted house in the near future which will be in the same area.
