Job summary PLEASE NOTE; The start date for this post will not be prior to June 2025 The Oncology, Palliative and Bereavement Service forms part of the ULTH Children's Community Service. Emotional/psychosocial interventions for children, young people and families who are affected by-oncology diagnosis/palliative diagnosis and/or bereavement. We are looking for a dynamic/creative individual to join our team.The post holder will be responsible for caseload management working with CYP, family/carers'/professionals-ensuring quality/excellence is given to all. The service is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm-working flexibly according to the needs of individual children/young people/families, providing out of hours visits/occasional weekend work. Applicants must hold a Registered qualification in Health e.g. Children's Nurse/Health Visitor Experience of working with children and Young people with additional/complex disabilities including life-limiting and/or progressive illness or those who are critically / terminally ill. Supporting families experiencing bereavement along with multidisciplinary team/interagency working within the community setting will be part of the role. This role isemotionally demanding and in return for your commitment we offer regular supervision, a supportive team and CPD 1) Support the Team Leader with the Daily Operational Management of the Specialist family Practitioner Team 2) In conjunction with the Team Lead set, maintain and provide high standards of working practices within the Specialist Family Practitioners Team 3) Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults (eg Parents/Carers) 4) To establish and maintain effective channels of communication with individuals, groups and all levels of the organisation and beyond, in order to provide an effective service 5) To be an expert resource for professionals to enhance the services they provide for children with medical/nursing needs and their families 6) To provide evidence based teaching/training to children with health care needs, their families/carers, and other learners,professionals in the wider community 7) Professional development of self and contribute to the professional development and support of others.
