Maintenance Assistant Location: Cherwell Hospital, Banbury & Blakelands Hospital, Milton Keynes Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time Salary: Depending on experience Benefits About the Hospital: The Cherwell Hospital, located in Banbury, Oxfordshire was purpose built in 2006 and has been designed to combine an exceptional standard of patient accommodation with the technical equipment and facilities that modern medicine demands. The Hospital has a 34 bed inpatient unit, consisting of single or twin rooms, a day case facility complimented by a dedicated Day Case Surgery unit and a new Ophthalmology Suite. The Hospital is equipped to undertake a large range of procedures, treatments and investigations. We have three fully equipped theatres and a SurgiCube theatre. Other outpatient facilities include physiotherapy, pharmacy, radiology, ultrasound and MRI. The role: An opportunity for a highly motivated individual, looking to develop a career in Hospital Engineering has arisen at The Cherwell Hospital. The successful candidate will bring a strong desire to learn a unique industry that necessitates a varied skilled set in problem solving, practical application of skills and strong verbal and written communication. The role is based primarily at The Cherwell Hospital in Banbury, comprising four days a week, with funded travel to our sister hospital in Milton Keynes (Blakelands) one day per week. Day to day, the successful candidate can expect to support the engineers in maintaining the hospital estate, whilst learning to manage contractors, complex hospital plant and PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) programs. Opportunities to join a modern apprenticeship program for Hospital Engineers will be presented following six months of service, which will help to prepare the successful candidate to take on a full Hospital Engineer role in the future.
